The Chamber serves approximately 1000 member businesses in a county of over 206,000 people. The Chamber's membership is a diverse group of manufacturers, agricultural producers, retail stores, service companies, and organizations that share a common vision for the community. Strong Roots ...
Organized in 1862, the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce has diligently served the Saginaw Valley business community for more than 146 years. Going back to the early days of the lumbering era, the Chamber, then known as the Board of Trade, has developed our economy, helped bring jobs to the area and taken the initiative to improve our quality of life. The Chamber's goal is to enhance our community assets and work to continue Saginaw County's long tradition of being a great place to live, work, play, and learn!

Our Chamber members are leaders. Executives, owners and employees are actively involved in the Saginaw County community. They are coaches, volunteers, board members for local organizations, contributors to charities and investors in our local economy.
The Chamber Leadership
Twenty-seven board members, a cross section of leaders from the Saginaw County business and professional community, represent the approximately 1,000 members of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. Our Board members come from a variety of professional backgrounds, which allows for multiple perspectives on Saginaw County's challenges and assets. The diversity also provides a variety of opportunities for combining resources and directing them for continuous community improvement..
The Chamber in Our Community
As a community-based organization, the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce has a variety of faces and supports a diverse group of initiatives. 
A catalyst for change! We played a key role in organizing and funding Saginaw County Vision 2020 and Saginaw Future, Inc. The Chamber helped establish Community Project Delphi. We were partners in the creation of the Saginaw Valley African American Leadership Training Institute. The Chamber also provided resources to the Saginaw County Crime Prevention Council, initiated the Saginaw County Business and Education Partnership, and was instrumental in creating and directing the Washington Avenue Corridor Project.
The front door of the community! We handle thousands of inquiries every year from people moving to the area, students returning home, and people who want to learn more about the Saginaw Valley. The Chamber provides data and information on schools, employers, doctors, churches, and all of the communities within the Valley.
A supporter of small business! Small businesses turn to us in challenging times, when they need advice and counsel. Our members are always willing to help fellow members. The Chamber answers questions and provides direction and assistance. We host networking events so you can get to know other members, offer small business seminars, provide sales assistance through a sales leads roundtable program, provide a forum for business to business advertising and benefits, participate in small-business resource development and education, and more.
A leader in regional cooperation! We helped create the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, whose goal is to develop the entire Mid-Michigan economy. Over the last twelve years, the Chamber has worked cooperatively to promote regional businesses through the Mid-Michigan Regional Business Exposition. We also recently partnered with several organizations to help fund a consultant study on regional infrastructure expansion. The Chamber is constantly searching for new ways to promote and encourage regional cooperation to improve the business climate in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
A community promoter! Through media relations, the Saginaw Valley Image Committee, our Web site and various publications, the Chamber markets the Saginaw Valley to the region, state, country and world. Additional publications include the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory and Resource Guide, the bi-monthly business magazine "Business Advocate", the Saginaw County map, and a regional image magazine called "Great Lakes Bay".
