Have you ever wanted to find out what Geocaching is? Or learn how to Paddleboard? Or try your hand at Disc Golf? Now is your chance!
Saginaw County Parks and Recreation is offering ‘Recreation 101’, a free event held at Haithco Recreation Area, 2121 Schust in Saginaw, on Wednesday, July 18th from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
“We created the program to encourage people to try something new. And there is no cost involved,” said Stephanie Wirtz, Outdoor Recreation and Event Coordinator for Saginaw County Parks. “There are not many places you can go to try all these things at once.”
Participants will be able to see these recreational opportunities first-hand and learn the basics of how each activity is performed and where they can participate in them locally. Organizations will be on hand to let participants watch and/or try kayaking, fishing, fly fishing, dog training, geocaching, disc golf, paddleboarding, and more! Entrance fee to the park will be waived beginning at 4:30 pm.
If you would like more information or have questions, please call Saginaw County Parks at (989) 790-5280.
