Q: When did you become a member of the Saginaw County Young Professionals Network? A: 2022
Q: What motivated you to join the YPN Steering Committee? A: I wanted to help Saginaw grow to its full potential, and be a part of making a difference in the community. I am not from Saginaw, but my family and I have made Saginaw our home and we want to be a part of making this a great place for other people to call home as well.
Q: What YPN event do you look forward to the most and why? A: I look forward to our Books & Brews Book Club meetings because it encourages me to read more and it’s a fun way to meet new people and connect on an intellectual level.
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new YPN Members? A: Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! The Steering Committee is here to help, and you can ask any of us to introduce you to people or join you for an event so you feel more comfortable.
Q: What was your first job? A: My first job was running a snow cone stand at the general store in the town I grew up in. My family owned the store and this was my way of learning entrepreneurial skills from a young age.
Q: Tell us how the YPN has made you realize, or appreciate more, what Saginaw County has to offer in regards to living, working or playing here? A: The YPN helped me realize just how much there is to do in Saginaw! So much so that if you say there’s nothing to do in Saginaw, I just say you don’t know enough about Saginaw yet! And this goes for people who are new here or who have been here all their lives.
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? A: Maybe not the most adventurous, but one worth mentioning is that I took a solo trip to Universal Studios for my birthday in 2021. I did nothing but spend the entire 4 days in Harry Potter World but it was a great experience being able to do it on my own.
Q: What inspires or motivates you to be part of the YPN? A: The potential to grow our community and come together to create a Saginaw we can continue to be proud of, feel safe to live in, and create opportunities for people to develop professionally and personally so that they can also call Saginaw home. Saginaw is an amazing place to be, and I want to help everyone see just how great it is, and how much better it can be if we come together.
