Q: When did you begin working at your company?
A: 2021 for My Member Insurance and 2016 for Occasional Details
Q: When did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I became an Ambassador in 2019.
Q: What motivated you to become an Ambassador?
A: The connection with members and the opportunity to be a commerce matchmaker. I love people and I love to talk. Active listening helps you to figure out what the member you are speaking with needs and then you have a plethora of options to network them with.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I don’t have one that stands out, but I have worked with a number of potential members and have followed them through their membership process, New Member Expo, answering questions, inviting them to Perc and Business After Hours and helping them feel welcomed and valued.
Q: What Chamber event do you look forward to the most and why?
A: I love Perc. Everyone is ready to start the day off on the right foot, there is a lot of networking and greeting seasoned members, new members and potential members.
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new Chamber members?
A: Bring your business cards to every event and introduce yourself and your business to at least two new people. More often than not they will introduce you around to their circle and your contacts will grow exponentially.
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people.
A: I am not 100% extrovert. I am 50% extrovert and 50% introvert and if I am in my introvert phase good luck getting me to go anywhere.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Hostess at Sweet Onion in Midland. LOVED that job and the people I worked with.
Q: What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to what you’re doing now?
A: I thought about being a teacher and many other things, but as long as I am working with people and helping them build relationships that is my perfect job.
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
A: I am pretty much a chicken, so I would have to say parasailing in Cancun. What a rush! I would totally do that again.
Q: What inspires or motivates you to keep giving back to the community?
A: Community is everything. We are all so interconnected whether it is work, sports, worship, work or any other activities. Build your circle, grow your group, get involved in something that feeds your soul, practice selfcare and be empathetic to all people you come across. We all need a helping hand, hug and positive words from time to time.
