Q: What year did you begin working at your company?
A: I started working at Tri-Star Trust in November 2018.
Q: What year did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I have been a Chamber Ambassador since January 2022.
Q: What motivated you to become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I enjoy networking on both a personal and professional level. It allows me to connect with people I wouldn’t normally see or run into throughout my typical business day.
Q: What’s a small moment as an Ambassador that made you feel proud to be involved?
A: I would say helping several new members over the years that were not only new to the Chamber, but new to the Saginaw area. The appreciation they have shown reminds me of the powerful impact our small and simple actions can make for those that need it.
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’ve received that has stuck with you, personally or professionally?
A: The only constant in this world is change. You have to be able to adapt, or the world will leave you behind. This is especially true in the technologically advanced world we live in today.
Q: If someone is attending their first Chamber event, what’s one thing you hope they take away from the experience?
A: I hope they leave thinking about the next event they want to attend. That their first event was welcoming with lots of positive energy to put toward their future engagement with the Chamber and all its members. They can’t wait to do it again!
Q: If someone wanted to start a conversation with you at a Chamber event, what’s an easy topic to bring up?
A: I think there are several easy topics to bring up. Anything from the weather to career to hobbies. I think I am pretty easy to talk to, regardless of the topic.
Q: What role has the Chamber played in your personal or professional growth?
A: The Chamber has allowed me to meet people from across all different careers that I would not normally come in contact with in my profession. It has also encouraged me to become a stronger leader through being an Ambassador Team Lead and serving on the Executive Committee.
Q: What’s one skill or area of expertise people are often surprised to learn you have?
A: I’m not sure I have one. I used to do a lot of cross-stitch when I was younger and won awards in high school. I’ve done quite a few large ones that have been framed and even a baby blanket. That might surprise some people.
Q: What’s something you’re currently learning or would like to learn next?
A: I like to learn something new every year. I don’t know what it will be yet this year. It will come to me when the time is right.
Q: What's one thing you always have at your desk?
A: There are quite a few things that are always at my desk, such as my water bottle, wintergreen mints, and my financial calculator. Always organized, always prepared.
Q: If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
A: Happy by Pharrell Williams. I go to work happy, I leave happy, and throughout the day we try to make our clients and each other happy. We work in a positive, encouraging environment.
