Q: When did you begin working at your company? A: March 2023
Q: When did you become a Chamber Ambassador? A: 2024
Q: What motivated you to become an Ambassador? A: To strengthen current and build new relationships in Saginaw County.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as a Chamber Ambassador? A: As an Ambassador we have teams we work with at events and my team rocks. I am all about having a Chamber Squad and this team of fellow Ambassadors is my Saginaw Squad.
Q: What Chamber event do you look forward to the most and why? A: The Golf Outing! Fun, sun, drinks and golf carts. What could be better!?
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new Chamber members? A: Be YOU! It is easy to look at a room of business suits and feel that you aren’t important enough or business enough. Guess what? You don’t have to be! If you wear sneakers to work, wear them to network. We are our best when we are comfortable and true to ourselves and comfort leads to confidence. And, when in doubt bring a networking wingman!
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people. A: I am not sure what would surprise people about me these days! However, I am actually quite introverted! I put a TON of energy into the 9 -5 and by 6pm I am usually hunkered down in a quiet place recharging and reflecting.
Q: What was your first job? A: Cleaning uses appliances at a used Maytag store. I don’t recommend that job. Ew.
Q: What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to what you’re doing now? A: I only know that I wanted to do BIG things and make an impact. I absolutely know that working for a nonprofit is exactly that. When times get hard in the community the nonprofits jump into action. I am both proud to be working for a NPO and to be a volunteer for many others in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Ok, Maybe I wanted to be Mary Lou Retton - I even had the leotard!
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? A: Started skateboarding and progressing to roller derby in my mid-40s! I might be crazy but I am having a blast!
Q: What inspires or motivates you to keep giving back to the community? A: After you see that one act of kindness or words of advice can create a ripple effect you just want to keep making those ripples!!
