Q: When did you begin working at your company?
A: 2023
Q: When did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: 2024
Q: What motivated you to become an Ambassador?
A: The need to build and maintain relationships in the community.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as a Chamber Ambassador?
A: That one is tough! I think the connections I have made with my fellow Ambassadors is memorable! I very much enjoy being a part of this team!
Q: What Chamber event do you look forward to the most and why?
A: I LOVE the Chairman’s Ball! It is so much fun to dress up and party the night away! Ain’t no party like a Chamber Par-tay!
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new Chamber members?
A: Go! Go to the Business After Hours. Go to Perc. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself and put yourself out there. The Chamber is here to support you and help you succeed. Utilize those resources!
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people.
A: I have an overwhelming number of house plants. I like to propagate them to see if I can and then I do and now I have no room for anything else in my life.
Q: What was your first job?
A: I started my own cleaning business that I ran for about 10 years. I specialized in cleaning houses for senior citizens and those unable to clean their homes for themselves.
My first 1099 job was at McDonalds.
Q: What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to what you’re doing now?
A: I initially wanted to be a nurse because my grandmother spent a lot of time in the hospital. However, I later realized that I couldn't meet the requirements. Still driven to help others, I began my college studies in social work and criminal justice, aiming to make a positive impact. During my last semester at Ferris State, I had my daughter and decided to change fields. I graduated from Northwood with a business degree, which complemented my role in banking. Now, I help people manage their finances, providing solutions to make their lives easier and earning their trust, which brings me satisfaction.
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
A: I am not sure I would say I’m very adventurous. However, I do like to just pack up and go out of town on a whim. Could be to another state or just up north. No plans, no agenda just up and find my own adventure.
Q: What inspires or motivates you to keep giving back to the community?
A: Giving back to the community gives a sense of connection and responsibility towards others. I find motivation in the idea that I can make a positive impact, whether it’s through volunteering, sharing knowledge or supporting local initiatives. The sense of fulfillment and purpose that comes from contributing to the well-being of others is incredible rewarding for me. Witnessing the positive changes and growth within a community is truly inspiring as well. I feel if we can inspire those around us, they will help continue efforts, creating a cycle of support and improvement.
