Meet Nicole Hanson
Q: What year did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: Since 2023
Q: What motivated you to become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: Becoming a Chamber Ambassador was a natural extension of my passion for community connection. I am motivated by the need to ensure businesses feel supported, seen and connected to the right people and resources. The role allows me to build meaningful relationships, learn from others’ experiences, and help foster a stronger, more collaborative local business environment. It’s a way for me to continue learning while actively contributing to the growth and vitality of our community.
Q: What’s a small moment as an Ambassador that made you feel proud to be involved?
A: One moment that made me proud was helping connect a local business owner to another Chamber member who could support their next step of growth. Seeing that initial introduction turns into a real working relationship reinforced how powerful the Ambassador role can be, even in small, intentional moments.
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’ve received that has stuck with you, personally or professionally?
A: Advocating for yourself is not about self-promotion-it’s about ensuring your voice is heard and your perspective is represented. That mindset has shaped how I show up both personally and professionally.
Q: If someone is attending their first Chamber event, what’s one thing you hope they take away from the experience?
A: I hope that they leave feeling more confident, knowing that they are not alone and that the Chamber is a welcoming resource designed to support their growth.
Q: If someone wanted to start a conversation with you at a Chamber event, what’s an easy topic to bring up?
A: Tell me about your business and what you’re hoping to gain from the Chamber. I love helping people make the right connections.
Q: What role has the Chamber played in your personal or professional growth?
A: The Chamber has supported me beyond traditional professional development-offering encouragement, flexibility, and community during a difficult chapter in my life, both professionally and personally. That support has allowed me to continue growing, stay connected, and contributing in a way that was meaningful to me. This has reinforced that Chamber’s commitment to people-not just businesses- and strengthened my desire to stay involved and give back.
Q: What’s one skill or area of expertise people are often surprised to learn you have?
A: People are often surprised to learn that I have almost 20 years in the finance industry.
Q: What’s something you’re currently learning or would like to learn next?
A: I am currently learning how to step back from being the most outward-facing person in the room and focus more on leading, supporting and managing effectively from behind the scenes – creating space for others to grow and succeed.
Q: What's one thing you always have at your desk?
A: I always have a notebook and pen handy. I am always writing down ideas, thoughts, reminders etc. If I didn’t write it down, it probably still needs done, honestly.
Q: If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
A: Fight Song - Rachel Platten
