Q: What year did you begin working at your company?
A: 2014
Q: What year did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: 2021
Q: What motivated you to become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I was motivated to become a Chamber Ambassador because I love helping members make new connections. I enjoy networking, learning about local businesses and their unique needs, and being able to bridge those connections in a way that supports their growth and success.
Q: What’s a small moment as an Ambassador that made you feel proud to be involved?
A: One moment that made me especially proud to be an Ambassador was when a local business was on the verge of closing. Our team stepped in to help get the word out to our networks, show up in person, and support the business in any way we could. Seeing the community rally around them and knowing we played a role in that support really highlighted the impact we can have as Ambassadors.
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’ve received that has stuck with you, personally or professionally?
A: One piece of advice that has really stuck with me is: when things get tough, just keep going. No matter the job or the challenge, perseverance matters, and eventually things will work out. It’s a simple reminder to stay steady and keep moving forward, both personally and professionally.
Q: If someone is attending their first Chamber event, what’s one thing you hope they take away from the experience?
A: If someone is attending their first Chamber event, I hope they take away the value of connecting with new people. Talk to someone you haven’t met before, you never know where that conversation might lead, whether it’s a partnership, a new client, or a lasting connection
Q: If someone wanted to start a conversation with you at a Chamber event, what’s an easy topic to bring up?
A: I usually start by asking, ‘Tell me about your business, what do you do?’ That almost always leads into a deeper, more interesting conversation.
Q: What role has the Chamber played in your personal or professional growth?
A: Professionally, it’s helped me expand my network and create valuable connections for our business. Personally, I’ve also made lasting friendships, which makes being involved even more rewarding.
Q: What’s one skill or area of expertise people are often surprised to learn you have?
A: People are often surprised to learn that, besides doing commercial design work, I’ve designed house plans for my own home. Last year, we added an addition and renovated the existing space, and I was able to draw up the plans, create the blueprints, and even repurpose items to install them throughout our home. It was really rewarding to see my designs come to life in a space I actually live in.
Q: What’s something you’re currently learning or would like to learn next?
A: I’d like to learn more about what makes our business more appealing and dive deeper into marketing techniques. Marketing is always a challenge, and I’m excited to explore strategies that can help us connect with more people and showcase what we do best
Q: What's one thing you always have at your desk?
A: Coffee and my calculator! My Yeti is always nearby in the morning, and my calculator is a must as a space planner and designer, when I’m constantly reconfiguring spaces, every inch matters.
Q: If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
A: Working in a family business, we often joke that we could have our own reality show. So many moments just remind me of episodes from The Office, and it’s surprisingly relatable and totally appropriate for us. For instance, when transferring a phone call turns into a laughable moment because someone forgets how. It’s funny, chaotic, and totally appropriate for us!
