Q: When did you begin working at your company? A: April of 2022
Q: When did you become a Chamber Ambassador? A: 2023
Q: What motivated you to become an Ambassador? A: I had been an Ambassador for another Chamber before and it was a great experience, but Saginaw is home, and always has been – so connecting the two was a no-brainer for me.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as a Chamber Ambassador? A: Helping connect folks who are newer to the Chamber experience with other folks that can help them build even more connections and learn from those who have experienced similar challenges in their businesses.
Q: What Chamber event do you look forward to the most and why? A: Perc Breakfast for sure. Not sure when and how I became a morning person, but it happened, and being able to see old friends and make new friends to start the day is a highlight!
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new Chamber members? A: Listening is more important that speaking. If you give a stranger your business card and try to sell to them right away, it rarely turns into anything. Instead, ask them questions about themselves and ask how you can help them, and who you can connect them with. They will remember you much longer and want to continue building a long-term relationship.
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people. A: I’m secretly an introvert. It’s true.
Q: What was your first job? A: Oh boy, for $3.15 an hour I was scooping ice cream at Fuzzy’s!
Q: What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to what you’re doing now? A: I was going to be a sports journalist. Spending time talking about what was most important to me in creative and engaging ways – so very similar to what I do now! The subject has changed, but it’s still something very important to me, and there are additional responsibilities that I enjoy, but the spirit of it is the same.
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? A: I’m not a really adventurous person, but I can do moderate rappelling and zip lines. I do enjoy jet skis from time to time if I get the chance.
Q: What inspires or motivates you to keep giving back to the community? A: Saginaw has given so much to me, my family, and my friends. Why wouldn’t I give back? Published: January 2025
