Q: When did you become a member of the Saginaw County Young Professionals Network?
A: 2023
Q: What motivated you to join the YPN Steering Committee?
A: To become more involved and make connections in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as YPN member?
A: My first event as a YPN was the Saginaw Spirt game to see the upgrades to the Dow Event Center for the Memorial Cup. This was so memorable because everyone was so welcoming and we were able to see what great things were happening in Saginaw!
Q: What YPN event do you look forward to the most and why?
A: The YPN Connect in the morning because there’s lots of new YP’s that come to that event so it’s a chance to meet new people and make new connections!
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new YPN members?
A: One tip for networking would be don’t be afraid to start a conversation. When I first joined I was so nervous to meet people and start a conversation! The YPN is to grow connections and meet people in the community! It’s okay to be nervous we are all growing in our roles and in our networks!
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people.
A: One fun fact about me is I am the JV basketball coach at Saginaw Heritage!
Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was a recreational coach at Mid-Michigan Gymnastics in Freeland!
Q: Tell us how the YPN has made you realize, or appreciate more, what Saginaw County has to offer in regards to living, working or playing here?
A: The YPN helped me realize that there’s so many ways to get involved and meet people in the community! Every event I go to I’m able to talk and make a new connection with someone new!
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
A: Packed up my car & drove to Nashville for a week myself with no plan or idea what I was going to do when I got there!
Q: What inspires or motivates you to be part of the YPN?
A: Joining the YPN motivates me because it’s an opportunity to connect with my peers and also learn from experienced professionals through networking, have career development opportunities and also be able to contribute to the community!
