Q: When did you begin working at your company?
A: I have been with Wilson Realty since 2019.
Q: When did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I have been a proud Chamber Ambassador since January 2021. Tempus fugit!
Q: What motivated you to become an Ambassador?
A: My previous career did not expose me to the area of local business and commerce. I really didn’t know this world existed. My brokerage is a member of the Chamber, and I was encouraged to attend and learn. A whole new world opened up to me. I was instantly drawn to what the Chamber does for our community and region, so I decided to get involved.
Q: What’s the most memorable connection you’ve made as a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I’ve made so many friends and connections; both large and small business owners and employees, elected officials and volunteers in many of the local nonprofit organizations. But as a whole, I would say it is that I learned about and got involved with an organization that is working to better our community and better our lives.
Q: What Chamber event do you look forward to the most and why?
A: I like them all really. They are all different and provide opportunities to learn, connect, help others connect, communicate and influence in different ways.
Q: What’s one networking tip you’d share with new Chamber members?
A: I’ll give two tips. First, take full advantage of your Chamber membership! Attend the events and get involved. There are many free events throughout the year and others that really don’t cost that much. Second, don’t be afraid to walk up to someone you don’t know and introduce yourself. After all, they may be just as nervous as you. So, break the ice or look for an Ambassador. We are here to help you!
Q: Tell us one fun fact about you that might surprise people.
A: I still own the very first car I ever bought. A 1959 Triumph TR3A.
Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was as a truck driver for Edward’s Men’s Shop.
Q: What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to what you’re doing now?
A: I don’t know that I had a dream job per se. I know I wanted to help people. I saw myself as a business owner. That’s right where I am: a business owner that helps home sellers and buyers find solutions with one of the most expensive things they’ll ever own.
Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
A: I jumped out of an airplane a few times. And, clearly yes, I had my parachute on!
Q: What inspires or motivates you to keep giving back to the community?
A: That there are so many people working to make our community better. The place in which we all have decided to live, work and play. How can you not get involved in some way and be part of the solution?
