Q: What year did you begin working at your company?
A: I joined Wilson Realty in 2020.
Q: What year did you become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: I became a Chamber Ambassador in 2021.
Q: What motivated you to become a Chamber Ambassador?
A: My broker shared that Wilson Realty is a Chamber member and encouraged me to get involved. That immediately sparked my interest. I quickly learned how the Ambassador program connects you to the broader business community while offering opportunities for professional development and meaningful networking.
Q: What’s a small moment as an Ambassador that made you feel proud to be involved?
A: Seeing a new member really “get it” — when they jump in, get involved, and start to grow and succeed. Being even a small part of that is incredibly rewarding.
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’ve received that has stuck with you, personally or professionally?
A: “When opportunity presents itself, it’s too late to prepare.” That reminder keeps me focused on always learning and staying ready.
Q: If someone is attending their first Chamber event, what’s one thing you hope they take away from the experience?
A: I hope they leave realizing the Chamber is a genuine pathway to success — and feeling excited to get involved.
Q: If someone wanted to start a conversation with you at a Chamber event, what’s an easy topic to bring up?
A: There are plenty! Family and grandkids, real estate, gardening and landscaping, music, golf, science and physics, or of course anything about the Great Lakes Bay Region.
Q: What role has the Chamber played in your personal or professional growth?
A: The Chamber has played a significant role in both. I’ve met people from a wide range of industries who are all working to make our region stronger. Many have become close friends. It’s expanded my network, helped me grow professionally and personally, and supported the growth of my business.
Q: What’s one skill or area of expertise people are often surprised to learn you have?
A: People are sometimes surprised to learn that I don’t mind doing the unglamorous work. I’m happy to roll up my sleeves and pitch in wherever I’m needed, even if it’s outside my usual wheelhouse.
Q: What’s something you’re currently learning or would like to learn next?
A: Golf — I started as a pre-teen, and I figure with just a couple more lessons I’ll finally have it mastered!
Q: What's one thing you always have at your desk?
A: A small painted rock from one of my grandkids — a gift from the heart and a sweet reminder that family is built in many wonderful ways. It’s a daily reminder of how lucky I am to be Grandpa Ken.
Q: If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
A: I don’t think I could narrow it down to just one song. It would be more like a prog rock playlist — different moods, changing tempos, and the occasional grand finale when everything comes together just right.
