Chamber Endorsements for Saginaw County Clerk and Register of Deeds
Veronica Horn, President and CEO of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Chamber’s 2020 endorsements for the Saginaw County Clerk’s Office and the Office of Saginaw County Register of Deeds, each representing all of Saginaw County. In accordance with the policies and procedures set by the Board of Directors of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, a screening and endorsement committee surveyed and interviewed candidates running for the Saginaw County Clerk and Saginaw County Register of Deeds positions. The committee evaluated the candidates’ responses against the Chamber’s legislative priorities and vision for the future and interests of the Saginaw County business community.

The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to support the re-election of both Mike Hanley and Katie Albosta-Kelly.
“These two public servants have served the community well and merit re-election” according to Veronica Horn, President/CEO of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. “We are happy to support their re-election and urge others to support them.”
Chamber Position on Museum Millage Renewal
The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its support for the Castle Museum Millage Renewal appearing on the Tuesday, August 4, 2020 ballot.
Proposal 1 is a millage request to renew the existing millage of .1997 mill ($0.1997 per $1000.00) of taxable property for six years, beginning in 2021. If passed, the millage will raise up to $1,036,416 in the first year, for the purpose of continuing operations of the Castle Museum of Saginaw County History, and supporting the historical museums in Bridgeport, Chesaning, Frankenmuth, St. Charles, and other activities of historical importance within the entire Saginaw County.
The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors thoroughly reviewed the proposals and voted unanimously to support the renewal of the Castle Museum millage believing this is an essential quality of life proposal to record and archive the history of Saginaw County for future generations.
