Q: How long have you been with Arner Investment Management? A: Since 2012.
Q: How long have you been a Chamber Ambassador? A: I believe it was two years in May.
Q: What do you like about being an ambassador? A: I love being part of a team whose sole job at a Chamber event is to engage members, especially new members, who likely don’t know too many of our wonderful membership yet. I can get to know them, ask about their business, and help connect them to people who can benefit from their product or services or connect them to people that might have a product or service they can benefit from.
Q: Tell us something about yourself. A: I’m almost a lifelong resident of Saginaw. As a child my family moved to Alma, MI for a few years and as a young adult I lived in New Orleans for a year and a half (Geaux Saints!) My wife Kristy and I had our first child, Lucas, last summer. I like to build furniture and other items out of wood. I like powerlifting and Olympic lifting.
Q: What was your first job? A: I was a paperboy for the Saginaw News!
Q: What keeps you up at night? A: Nothing. I sleep like a log.
Q: What is your greatest achievement? A: Convincing my wife to marry me.
Q: What is your most prized possession? A: Possession? Hmm…well, in addition to the finished products my woodworking produces, I think I actually enjoy the process more than the finished result. I use a lot of traditional hand tools in my work. I’d have to say my collection of vintage and new premium hand tools. I have a special preference toward vintage Lufkin tools because they were mostly produced in Saginaw.
Q: What is something unique in your office? A: I have some Cypress knees given to me from my great Uncle Herb, who also lived in the New Orleans area at one point in his life. It was a pretty interesting coincidence that we both ended up living in the same area at different times in our lives and something that we shared in common. If you don’t know what those are you’ll have to come and see them!
Q: What is your favorite Michigan travel location? A: My wife is from the UP. The Upper Peninsula is Michigan’s (the country’s?) best kept secret.
