Program Coordinator Position
The Saginaw Chamber is seeking candidates to fill our Program Coordinator position. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the following programs of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce: the Saginaw Valley Young Professionals Network, Sales Leads Roundtable Groups, Small Business education series, the Leadership Saginaw Alumni Association and provide support for the Leadership Saginaw County Program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong computer skills and database management
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign desired
- Must provide an outstanding, positive example of customer service, leadership, and professionalism to chamber members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
- Displays sound judgment
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple organizational meetings and volunteers
- Ability to strategically support the overall programs, ranging from financial planning to promotion strategies
- Non-essential/peripheral function – Involvement in civic or philanthropic organizations
Job Description
YPN & Sales Lead Roundtable
- Facilitate all aspects of meeting planning for the Saginaw Valley Young Professional Network, and Sales Leads Roundtable Groups, from site selection, vendor negotiation, event registration, marketing, onsite staffing and post-event reporting
- Research and develop new opportunities for continuous improvement with regard to developing the YPN and Sales Leads programing
- Generate and track correspondence
- Work with staff to create and manage budgets for events and event registration
- Maintain the YPN membership database and daily administrative functions
- Assist in coordinating the marketing and communications strategies, event materials and signage with Marketing and Communications team for the Chamber
Leadership Saginaw
- Assist with administration and logistics of the Leadership Saginaw Program including:
- Help facilitate recruitment of new class
- Help facilitate planning committees for each of the 10 program days
- Work extensively with volunteers and alumni
- Work extensively with community leaders/presenters/issues experts
- Support the management of the Alumni Association (Leadership Saginaw)
Big Strategies for Small Business
- Assist the Chamber President and Communications team with planning, promoting, and executing the education series.
Requirements
- Preferred: Minimum three year experience in program and events or related field
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
- Self-motivated with results and goal orientation
- Ability to thrive and think creatively
- Ability to work well with volunteers and staff at all levels
- Attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, operate as a team player, and provide positive outcomes in conflict resolution
- Assist other departments with programs, projects, events, etc. or with other related duties as availability permits
- Professional attitude and approach to work in a service atmosphere
- Able to travel independently to and from events
- Attend early morning, weekend meetings and evening events
