Q: How long have you been with Underground Railroad? A: I started with URR in July 2009, left for 10 months in 2015, all and all nearly 9 years.
Q: How long have you been a Chamber Ambassador? A: I was just approved in January 2019.
Q: What do you like about being an ambassador? A: I love promoting membership in the Chamber, as well community and business life in the GLBR, and getting to know the other members.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself. (Where are you from, education, family, etc.) A: I have been married to Matt for 35 years, we have four adult children, three of whom are married, and four wonderful grandchildren. I was raised in Vassar, we raised our children in Birch Run and now reside in Saginaw. Love our city of trees! I obtained my Associates degree from Delta and my Bachelors from SVSU. Go Cards!! Matt and I attend Immanuel Bible Church and I have been a Big Sister to a lovely young lady since she was 11. She is now 17 and will graduate from HHS and plans to attend Wayne State in the fall. I have been a member of and serve on the board for Women of Colors.
Q: What was your first job? A: I began babysitting for the children of my parent’s friends at the age of 11. Some of you may know them, Jim and Louise Hilligan.
Q: What worries keep you up at night? A: As an eldest child, the standards that I set for myself are high and when I think that I have missed the mark in some way either personally or professionally, sleep can elude me.
Q: What is your greatest achievement? A: I am proud of the milestone of 35 years of marriage.
Q: What is your most prized possession? A: Our family.
Q: What is something unique in your office? A: I have a thread spider web in a fake tree in my office and a coworker made the cutest big black spider for it with various hats that can be changed for different holidays.
Q: What is your favorite Michigan travel location? A: As it is a location that I have spent much time at as a child and adult, Caseville.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time? A: Read and play Sudoku.
