The transportation needs in Michigan have been long promised but mostly ignored. We support a focused effort in fixing our roads, bridges, dams, and waterways.
The Saginaw River was a highly used, successful port. Studies show that this 17.5-mile shipping channel would provide better and more environmentally safe ways to transport goods.
We support updating the infrastructure needs along South Washington Avenue and adjacent properties to continue the investments in this medical corridor. This includes funding for river stabilization, moving power lines and slowing traffic along Washington Avenue.
Priorities:
Support deepening the Saginaw River Shipping Channel to allow for larger and faster modes of shipping goods to the world.
Support funding for river stabilization and moving utility lines.
Support including small cell technology in developments to adapt for future electric vehicle use.
Support growing technology and efforts to expand capabilities and infrastructure in Saginaw County as an economic development tool.
