Tell us about yourself. I was born and raised in Saginaw. I attended Saginaw Township schools and completed my BA at Northwood University. I work for Cumulus Media and Valley United Insurance Agency. I am the President of the Saginaw Township Business Association, Co-Chair for the Walk to End Alzheimer - Saginaw Walk, an Ambassador for the Saginaw Chamber and a travel coach to my daughter's soccer team. Go Freeland Force! I am married to an amazing man, Ben Tacktor, and a mother of four - Trenton, Charlotte, Isaiah, and Riley. I love to go running, golfing, boating and spending as much time as I can at our cabin on Indian River.
Why are you involved with the YPN? I joined the YPN several years ago to grow my professional network and to help retain young professionals to the Great Lakes Bay Region. Saginaw has so much to offer for both professional and personal opportunities. Saginaw is a great place to work, live and play, and I love to be a part of spreading that message. The YPN also participates in volunteering in the community regularly throughout the year, which I am also very passionate about.
What visions do you have for the YPN in 2020 and long-term? My vision for the YPN in 2020 is to continue to spread the message that Saginaw is a close-knit community that has endless opportunities and that good things happen here!
What is your favorite inspirational quote? My favorite quote is, "How you do anything, is how you do everything." This quote was shared with me from one of my first clients when I was starting my 'professional career' about seven years ago, and it has stuck with me. I think it is important to be honest about how you do the "anything." If you aren't fully satisfied with your "anything," now is a good time to set a new standard.
What is your favorite thing about living in Saginaw? My favorite part about living in Saginaw is the sense of community. I grew up in Saginaw and am now raising my family here. There are so many great people that I have met and continue to meet, that have made a huge impact on my life. This community is resilient, always working towards a greater goal and giving back to those in need.
