Saginaw Chamber of Commerce Follows Coronavirus Safety Recommendations of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services
In consideration of the health of the Saginaw County and Great Lakes Bay community, the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce will adhere to the recommendations of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to slow the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. The Chamber will be postponing and/or cancelling events with an attendance of more than 100 people. In addition, to protect against potential exposure of members and their families, we will be cancelling non-essential committee and program meetings for the immediate future.
Current impacted events and meetings include the following:
March 17 – Big Strategies for Small Business: Affordable Retirement 401 (k) Plan
March 17 – Ambassador Meeting
March 20 – On the Record: Navigating Auto Insurance Reform
March 26 – Chamber Board of Directors Meeting
March 26 – YPN After 5
All Salesleads Roundtable Meetings from March 16 - March 27
Several of these events will be rescheduled, and the Chamber will honor reservations and paid sponsor promotion benefits on the rescheduled dates. Future events will be evaluated based on the recommendations of MDHHS.
In addition, the Chamber would like to invite any member or community organizations that are providing alleviation or respite services for those impacted by Coronavirus to let us know. We will post links to your services and share them with the community on the Chamber’s website.
While the current state of affairs is temporary, we urge our members and the community at large to monitor Michigan Health and Human Services (www.Michigan.gov/mdhhs/) as well as the World Health Organization (www.who.int) for the most up-to-date recommendations on dealing with the virus. We also urge you to continue supporting area small and local businesses as much as possible. We need to help our local economy survive during this time, so that we can all thrive on the other side.
