Midterm elections are here! And then they’re over. Many of us welcome the end of the never-ceasing negative ads, and it seems that the message is always that “this is the most important election ever!”
The statement might be overused, but Elections ARE important. They are the chance for you to choose how you want to see government run; what policies are important to you and your family and who you think will best represent those values.

The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors went through a thorough vetting process for our state and local candidates and endorsed according to those candidates we felt would reflect the business community’s issues. We selected candidates based upon their willingness to work with our organization on your behalf.
We have also reviewed the ballot proposals and only positioned on Ballot Proposal #1, supporting its passage. The board felt that neither Proposals 2 or 3 would affect the business community and so stayed neutral on both.
On the local (county) level, we supported the Mosquito Abatement millage renewal.
We also supported the Saginaw Intermediate School District’s Special Education Millage, and we supported the Countywide Road Funding issue.
All of these, we believe are investments to improve the quality of life and infrastructure in Saginaw County.
In any case, elections are very important and we urge you, always, to vote.
