This month has been eventful to say the least. We’re in the midst of a major correction in the market, with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) contributing to much of the market correction and the uncertainty of a Democrat Primary that seems to be pushing philosophy to the extreme left leaving many of us shaking our heads and a bit unnerved.
It’s easy to get caught up in these major happenings. However, it’s critical that we remain focused on what we can control - focused on the positive direction we are heading in Saginaw County and the Great Lakes Bay Region.
This doesn’t mean we should ignore world and national events. We need to do whatever we can to protect ourselves, our families and our businesses.

What it does mean, is that it is more critically important now to support local business. We can continue to strengthen our region by keeping our dollars and loyalty local. Buying local isn’t just a catch phrase; it means that we must support the entrepreneurs who create jobs and invest in our local economy.
It’s also critical for local business to belong to the Chamber. Why you ask? Because the Chamber is the organization that is leading redevelopment efforts. Certainly, we offer many networking and informational events, but some think that this is all we do. We are so much more!
The Chamber works in partnership with Saginaw Future Inc., Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, state, county and local governments, and many other partners to move our community forward.
In fact, if you look at any major initiative that impacts Saginaw County, you can be assured that the Chamber is one of the leading partners! We work each and every day to create an economic climate positioned to sustain existing and attract new business that benefits the Saginaw County Community and the Great Lakes Bay Region.
We urge you to pay attention when you make a purchase or visit a local business. Are they Chamber Members? If so, please support them as they support all of us. If not, ask them to join our efforts to move this community forward!
